“The medical challenges of being a mother do not end because of a pandemic.”

We worked with UNICEF Malaysia to document their journey all across Sabah to deliver hospital equipment, including transport incubators, basic ultrasound machines, basic vital monitor and radiant infant warmers, among others, to five local hospitals.

Hospitals were faced with the daunting task of attending to COVID-19 patients in addition to treating mothers and children.

During the visit, we heard from one of the mothers who was pregnant with her youngest child during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was afraid to go to any hospital for check-ups as her main worry was how she would be able to care for her children if she contracted the virus.

It was a heartbreaking story and we were grateful to be a part of UNICEF’s journey to provide the needed assistance to protect all mothers and children.
